Saturday, June 24: 9:00-11:00 am: Using your head – Building and Balancing Candle Trays & Fire Trays
Learn how to make your own gorgeous candle and fire trays and to balance and perform successfully with these beautiful creations. First, we will explore different types of trays, light, and fire effects and what it takes to make an impactful performance tool. Once we have your tray designed, we will cover the ABCs of performing while balancing something burning on top of your head (this is where all that upper and lower body separation comes in handy). We will practice combinations while balancing that include level changes and floor work. Please bring a tray. There will be a limit number of loaners available.

Magdelena Fusaro has been a performer and student of dance throughout her life. With a background in Ballet, Jazz, and Broadway Theater, coupled with playing bass guitar in NYC rock bands, she has an extensive background on both the New York stage and in clubs. Magdelena travels regularly to Egypt to study with dance masters at both festivals and in private classes. She also attends Middle Eastern dance workshops is the U.S. As a performer, Magdelena’s shows are high energy, full of sass, and drama. Until her recent move to Kentucky, she was seen regularly at some of DFW area’s finest Mediterranean clubs and restaurants as well as at cultural events and festivals as a solo artist and with the Na’Di El-Raks performance troupe. Now re-located, she performs and teaches throughout Kentucky and has added Tennessee to her dance roster.
