Description: In this part 1 of a 2-part online workshop learning how to bring Egyptian Culture into your dance. How an Arab moves, signals or gesters can enforce or clarify a messgae in a way that you say it. Bodylanguage is extremely meaningful in Arabic Language. It also contributes to delivering a unique and professional performance that sets you apart. Semiology, an international science, uses body language to detect and interpret gestures and movements. By applying these insights, you can enrich your performance, speech, art, folklore, and more.
Workshop - Body Language - Part 2

In this 2-part online program, learn how to enhance bellydancers' performances by focusing on how to choose the right Arabic songs and understanding essential keywords. The goal is to help dancers grasp the different emotional layers of a song so they can truly express its meaning through their performance. We'll also cover how to recognize various dialects—whether it's Egyptian, Khaliji, Saidi, Falahi, or Bedouin, and give examples to practice and exploring many different types of folklore in Egypt and Middle East and demonstrating dance and folkloric videos . The workshop also emphasizes body language gestures that connect with the meanings of the songs, allowing dancers to fully embody the music.
You are enrolling for the SECOND segment of a 2-part online program. Part One will be taught on Sunday, Sept. 29th. Part Two will follow on Oct 6th.
This workshop is live and interactive, and will be conducted over Zoom. Links will be shared with students in a timely manner. Recordings will not be available, except in extenuating circumstances.
